Jaguar XE SV Project 8 Touring specification announced

Jaguar’s Special Vehicle Operations division has developed a more restrained road-oriented version of the extreme XE SV Project 8.
The Touring specification vehicle gets a discreet new rear spoiler instead of an aerodynamic wing in its track-honed sibling, to deliver a more road-friendly mannerism. The Touring specification is the most exclusive XE SV Project 8 derivative and its production is limited to 15 units worldwide. The Touring badged vehicle is available in four signature Project 8 paint finishes, this includes - British racing green, corris grey satin, velocity blue and Valencia orange.
The new Touring specification is available alongside existing 320kmph Project 8 derivatives, which currently hold production sedan lap records on three continents – at circuits including the Nurburgring Nordschleife, Dubai Autodrome and the Laguna Seca. The Touring model gets a lip spoiler on the boot-lid instead of the adjustable carbon-fibre rear aerodynamic wing that generates more than 122kg of downforce at 300kmph in Track Mode. The vehicle, however, gets the same fixed front splitter to maintain an aerodynamic balance.
Mechanically, the Jaguar XE SV Project 8 Touring is powered by a 599bhp producing 5.0-litre supercharged V8 engine that is capable of sprinting from 0-100kmph in just 3.7 seconds. The top speed is limited to 300kmph. The 15 units of the four-seat sports vehicle will be hand-assembled at the company’s technical centre in Warwickshire.
Speaking on the occasion, Jamal Hameedi, Engineering Director, Jaguar Special Vehicle Operations, said: “Project 8 has received outstanding critical acclaim since its launch, demonstrating the Special Vehicle Operations team’s ability to create a compact Jaguar sedan with supercar-rivalling performance. Touring specification extends the appeal of Project 8 to performance car enthusiasts and collectors who prefer a more discreet appearance, without compromising its driver-focused on-road dynamics.”

Some say he’s half man half fish, others say he’s more of a seventy/thirty split. Either way he’s a fishy bastard.
